We started six years ago with a goal of producing the highest quality roping cattle possible.  We started by buying the highest quality heifers that we could find.  We further decided that their environment was critical to vitality, durability, and conception rates.  We summer our cow/calf pairs in the lush pastures of Gardnerville and Paradise Valley, Nevada.  Our cows are on the gain and life is pretty easy.  This results in very high consumption rates as well strong calves growing with their moms.  In the fall of each year we move all cows, calves and weaned calves to our winter allotment of over 500,000 acres.  During the winter months, our calves must travel distances each day in search of feed and water that we transport by truck.  By the time that our calves reach market size, they have spent roughly two-thirds of their life on the allotment making them much stronger and more durable than steers who have spent their lives on pasture.  The end results are steers that provide our customers with a much better roping experience, whether in the practice pen, or at actual team ropings, and much more durability for longer useful life.
